Artisanal Kinetic Wooden Wall Sculptures — Wind-Up Movement

€102,95

Looking for a unique gift for a friend or yourself? These three fascinating wooden artworks are exactly what you need!
They operate for hours on a wind-up mechanism and help balance negative and positive energies in your surroundings.
Furthermore, they promote concentration and meditation and are an absolute eye-catcher.

Style 1 Airship
The airship is an excellent gift for family and art lovers. (A little secret: you might find yourself gazing for too long and even taking a nap!🤣🤣)

This wall sculpture is not only impressive in appearance but also functions fascinatingly through kinetic energy. After winding up, the spring and internal gears work together to move the front and rear wheels alternately for up to 14 hours.

Style 2 Interplay
I experimented with various spring counts, thicknesses, and angles. Eventually, I developed designs that were both visually appealing and dynamic. I confirmed the patterns by creating animated simulations of the designs. However, the real challenge was getting the designs to move. My first attempt was not as balanced as I would have liked. After adjustments and a more precise calculation of the center of gravity, I was able to determine the exact point more accurately. My second attempt was then a complete success.

One side of the design resembles opening fans, while the other side unfolds outwards. These movements are displayed in a flickering pattern. The constantly changing rotation speeds together with this design create a work of art that is simply irresistible.

More complex patterns that accompany these wheels generally require a more subtle movement than simpler designs to avoid visual clutter. Duality represents what I perceive as a more complex asymmetrical wheel design. To fully understand the patterns generated, the mechanism must move the wheels in a predictable way. In contrast, sculptures like infinity have symmetrical wheels, which is why I chose a random and unpredictable mechanism in this case. After designing the wheel for duality, I began to experiment with different movements to find the most visually appealing combination. Once I found the right balance, I created a true sculpture!

How it works:

Hamsters! Just kidding. Each of my kinetic sculptures works like a wooden machine powered by a constantly wound spring. While they are visually appealing even when stationary, their charm truly unfolds in motion. A simple wind-up is enough to activate the movement and subtle sounds, which can last for varying lengths of time. My goal has always been to achieve longer operating times. Some models can run for up to 1.5 hours, while others reach up to 24 hours! This represents a significant improvement over my earlier designs, which stopped after just 20 minutes.

Important:

After your order, we take care of everything for you. This usually includes cutting the wood, sanding, and coating. We then perform movement tests (this can take 7-10 days depending on the project); once everything is verified and adjusted if necessary, we apply a glossy finish to enhance the appearance and protect the piece from pests and mold. Finally, we carefully package the product and ship it to you.
